Are you interested in treating heartburn so that you don’t have to deal with the constant burning of your throat at the end of your meals?  It can really throw a damper on your day, especially after a nice and satisfying meal if you have to contend with a bout of heartburn.

It’s a good thing you’re on the Internet though looking for solutions as there is no shortage of remedies for heartburn here.

Now we’re going to be going over several ways of treating heartburn that are all natural, one or two of them is bound to work out for you, so if you’ve been suffering for a while, your suffering is about to end:

1.        Stop Wearing Tight Clothes

This may not be a way of treating heartburn per say, but it will definitely prevent it.  You see, tight fitting clothes round the stomach area can actually create heartburn.  When your stomach is constricted it can then push stomach acid up into the esophagus where the burning sensation starts.  Make sure you’re not wearing tight tops or tight jeans and if you are, unbutton those jeans before your meal.

2.        Exercising

Now if you happen to be someone who is quite active, exercising might actually be a cause of your acid reflux.

You see if you end up exercising right after you have a large meal, this may cause agitation and force some of your stomach acid up and out of your stomach and onto your esophagus lining. Make sure you wait a good 3 hours before you engage in any strenuous physical activity to prevent this from happening.

On a related note, exercising can also be a great way of treating heartburn as well since it will result in your losing weight. Now the reason why losing weight helps is because the more overweight you are, the more fat in your body pushes your internal organs together and up, putting pressure on them. This makes it a lot easier for stomach acid to find it’s way up and out of your stomach.

If you lose enough weight through exercise though, you will be able to relieve this tension and relieve heartburn.

3. Reflexology

Now you might have tried treating heartburn with reflexology without even knowing it. By simply massaging the area that is in pain with your fingers, like say your forefinger and thumb, you will be able to soothe the area and bring things back into balance. Try this while laying down with your upper body elevated slightly to keep the acid down.

Now if none of these tips help you relieve heartburn, don’t fret, there are plenty of other natural remedies for heartburn to try.
