Heartburn Cures - Put An End To Acid Reflux!

Looking for some heartburn cures to ease your aching stomach?  If you find you’ve got a burning sensation right below your breastbone, chances are you’re experiencing a bout of heartburn which can be a symptom of something more serious known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).  Although most people don’t have it that bad, if you have heartburn several times a week, it is cause for concern.

Not to worry though, there are plenty of solutions to be found on the Internet, so there’s no shortage of solutions.  I’ll be going over just a few of those with you here.

So without further ado, if you need some natural remedies for GERD , here are a few to have a look into:

1.        Eat Smaller Portions

One of the best heartburn cures comes from just better managing how you eat.  You can still eat the same amount of food you normally eat in the day, but if you spread it out amongst 5-6 separate meals, you will be less likely to feel some of that food coming back up your throat. 

So enough of the 3 square meals a day, you need to get with the fit and healthy crowd and start doing 5-6 smaller meals to keep your stomach from being overfilled and to keep your metabolism revving.

2. Stop Smoking

If you don’t smoke to begin with, this tip can be ignored, however if you do smoke, this might be one of the most important heartburn cures you read through. You see, part of the reason you get heartburn is because the sphincter at the top of your stomach and bottom of your esophagus opens up and allows stomach acid to flow up where it doesn’t belong, which is in your throat.

If you happen to smoke, you are only relaxing this sphincter even more, and thus promoting your stomach acid to get up there and start burning away at your throat. The more cigarettes you take, the more stomach acid your body produces. You will also find you produce less saliva which is much needed as it would aid in digestion. Just stay far away from cigarettes, if you stay off them for a week or two, you will see the difference.

3. Stop Drinking Acidic Drinks

Acidic drinks may be one of the main reasons you have heartburn in the first place. So if you’re in search of some heartburn cures, consider cutting out orange juice if you drink it, or any other fruit drink like apple juice, pineapple juice, grapefruit juice, grape juice or cranberry juice.
