Cheap Home Security System - 4 Dirt Cheap Solutions!

By

Looking for a cheap home security system?  First I’d like to say that if you’re looking to protect your family and all your worldly possessions, it’s not the best idea to skimp on your home security service, if anything you would want that to be top notch so as to ensure you don’t loose any of the possessions you worked so hard for!

But if you must find a cheap home security system, have a look around the Internet, there are many deals to be found here.

Now if you are on a strict budget, I’m going to do you one better and give you a couple of tips you can put to work right away which will get your house a bit more secured.

1.        Use A Webcam

How’s this for a cheap home security system, setup a webcam to your computer and point it in the direction of your front door.  This way you can monitor what is going on in that region of your house from any other computer in the world if you know how to set this up right, as well as from your cell phone!  It may not be for everyone, but if you’re tech savvy, this is something to consider.

2. Put Up A Yard Sign

Now if you want a cheap home security system, you don’t even need to buy one to get the effect of one. What you can do is buy a yard sign which states your house is protected with a powerful security system. You can also get decals to place on your windows. Sometimes doing this alone is enough of a deterrent for would-be intruders. Now while you may not actually have a working alarm, this tip still will prove useful if you don’t have the money for even a cheap home security system.

3. Put Up Fake Cameras

You can get yourself some fake cameras to place all around your house to give it the impression that it is thoroughly protected. Each camera will likely only run you $20, but the visual effect this will have on a burglar who is surveying your property will be substantial. Sometimes the best defense comes from putting up a good front. While you may not be able to back it up, sometimes a front is all you need, your mileage will vary.

4. Have Someone Take Your Mail In

This tip is for when you’re leaving your home for extended periods of time. This is usually what robbers are looking for, so one good way to counteract this is ask a good friend to come in, turn on the lights and take in the mail every day or every other day for you. This will give the burglar second thoughts regarding the house’s occupancy.

Now if you want to get yourself a cheap home security system in addition to implementing some of these tactics, I’d advice checking on the Internet, there are a lot of good deals to be found there.
